Apollo, a Skyward Specialty Insurance Group company, has partnered with Generali to launch Red Bridge Syndicate 2031, a new platform partner syndicate for which Apollo will act as managing agent. The syndicate has received in-principle approval from Lloyd’s and is expected to begin underwriting on 1 January 2027.
Red Bridge will give Lloyd’s members the opportunity to share in Generali’s highly diversified outward reinsurance programme, covering multiple lines of business across Europe. For Generali, the syndicate secures access to new sources of capital to support its growth ambitions.
Issue 22 • 26 October 2026 • Capital & Lloyds
Red Bridge joins a growing line of insurers and specialists entering Lloyd’s through a dedicated syndicate run by an established managing agent, rather than building a managing agency of their own. Credeq’s new credit syndicate, which received in-principle approval the same week with Asta as managing agent, follows the same model.

Red Bridge isn’t a run-off vehicle, but it shows how flexible Lloyd’s capital has become. A major European insurer can now place part of its own reinsurance programme into a syndicate backed by outside investors. That gives those investors direct access to Generali’s risk, and gives Generali a home at Lloyd’s without the cost of running it. For the legacy market, every new syndicate is also a future source of RITC business in years to come.
